Your files never leave your computer
Renaming happens entirely in your browser tab. Your files are read into memory, renamed, packed into a zip and handed back to you as a download. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no server that could receive them even if we wanted one. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works.
What is stored on your device
If you buy a licence, your key is kept in your browser's local storage so you do not have to paste it again. It never leaves your device, and you can remove it at any time with the link under the rename button. Gumroad returns your email address along with a valid key; it is not stored.
No cookies. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no fingerprinting.
When your browser does talk to someone else
- Unlocking a licence. When you paste a key, your browser sends that key and the product id to Gumroad so it can confirm the purchase. It is not sent anywhere else.
- Buying. The unlock button sends you to Gumroad, who handle the payment and are the seller of record. Their privacy policy covers everything that happens there.
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, who process connection data such as your IP address in order to deliver the page and keep it online.
Fonts and images are served from this domain, so no third party sees a request for them.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you the right to see, correct or delete personal data held about you. Renamery collects none. Your licence key stays in your own browser and the Remove link clears it. Purchase details belong to Gumroad, so those requests go to them. For anything else, email alessa@codekitten.me.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
